HRI understands that the cost of attending conferences is prohibitive for some people. We worked hard to raise funds for scholarships to make HR23 more accessible. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Harm Reduction International was able to offer full or partial scholarships to around 60 people to attend HR23.
Scholarships were predominantly granted to people whose abstracts were accepted. Scholarship applications were submitted as part of the abstract submission process.
Scholarships were mainly granted to people from low- and middle-income countries and to people who use drugs. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as well as those people living in under-served, rural communities were also prioritised for HR23.
